Juniper Re, LLC Expands Operations to Bermuda and Appoints Industry Veteran Chris Hayward as Head of Office
TAMPA, Fla. March 4, 2024 – Juniper Re, LLC (“Juniper Re”) the dynamic reinsurance broking arm of BRP Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: BRP), proudly announces that is has received approval in principal from the Bermuda Monetary Authority (“BMA”) to open its Bermuda operations through its Bermuda subsidiary Juniper Re Bermuda, Ltd. (“Juniper Re Bermuda”), along with the appointment of Chris Hayward as Head of Office. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge, relationships, and leadership to Juniper Re, reinforcing its commitment to delivering impactful solutions to clients globally. Juniper Re Bermuda will be licensed by the BMA as an insurance broker conditional upon satisfaction of certain conditions and its formal registration with the BMA.
Bermuda is a leader in the reinsurance industry and the largest supplier of catastrophe reinsurance to U.S. insurers. Establishing a presence in Bermuda rapidly expands Juniper Re’s footprint and market access for the benefit of current and future clients. In assuming the position as Head of Office for Juniper Re Bermuda, Chris returns to the broking discipline where he began his career. Chris’s illustrious career, spanning over three decades, has included notable leadership roles at MS Amlin AG and Willis Re, where he worked for nearly 25 years. Chris has a comprehensive track record for leading strong and diverse teams, executing global strategies, and delivering client-focused solutions. In his most recent role as Chief Underwriting Officer of the Bermuda branch of MS Amlin AG, Chris played a crucial role in designing and delivering underwriting strategies, driving change, and improving profitability of the underwriting book. Chris is a highly respected figure in the Bermuda marketplace, and his extensive property knowledge and ability to balance the analytical and relationship sides of the business make him a perfect fit for Juniper Re’s mission to provide authentic and data-driven guidance to clients.
